He was born in Vassilika Thssaloniki in 1946.

Political Career:

• Deputy Minister of Development of Greece, responsible for Energy and Natural Resources (2004-2006). During his tenure, the Political Agreement for the construction of the Burgas - Alexandroupolis oil pipeline was executed and the Turkey - Greece - Italy natural gas pipeline interconnection was approved as a project of primary EU interest and was awarded priority funding status by the EC. Moreover, G. Salagoudis introduced - among others - the legal framework for the exploitation of Geothermy, the high-efficiency Co-Generation of Heat & Power, the Bio-fuels and the acceleration of procedures for the lisencing of RES projects. In addition, he had prepared since late 2005 the full Draft Law for the exploitation of Hydrocarbons in Greece, which eventually became Law of the State in 2011.
• He was voted Member of the Hellenic Parliament from the Β' Thessaloniki electoral area with the Party of New Democracy (ND) at the 1985, 1989, 1990, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2007 general elections.
• 1^st Chairman of the Energy & Environment Committee of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly (2007-2009).
• Chairman of the Production & Trade Committee of the Hellenic Parliament (2007-2009).
• Deputy Secretary General of the ND Parliamentary Group.
• Member of the Special Permanent Research & Technology Committee of the Hellenic Parliament.
• Chairman of the ND Group of Parliamentary Work on Industry(1990-1991, 1991-1992 και 1996-1997) and vice-Chairman of the ND Group of Parliamentary Work on Trade.

Professional career:

• Owner of Trading - Manufacturing companies.
• Provision of financial, re-strucuring and expansion services to companies (1981-1985).
• Manager in multi-national chemical industry (1973-1981).

• Member of the Board of Directors of the Public Natural Gas Company (DEPA) (2004-2006)
• Scientific Associate of the 1^st Chairman of the Energy & Environment Committee of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly (2007-2009).
• Scientific Associate of the Hellenic Parliament (2006-2009).

• Law School of the Aristotles University of Thessaloniki.
